Picnic at Rattlesnake Lake

It's still lovely and summery here in Seattle, but I've been warned that the mood and temperature changes in a couple of weeks.  A couple of weeks?!?  I feel like it's only just started!!

So to make the most of the last of summer, some girlfriends and I hired a car and drove to Rattlesnake Lake for a picnic.  Despite it's foreboding name, the lake was an absolute stunner, surrounded by mountains, cliffs and tree roots.  The water on the other hand was freeeeezing, but I did manage to go in up to my neck which was a major accomplishment.
